panoramas — Our house in 360

A more recent pano of our house taken with a rented Sony DSC-F828. I also produced a full 360 pano with it. See below.

This, obviously, ended up with an infinitely better final image than with previous cameras. I maintained the same contrast throughout all the shots. (The house is unfinished I know.)

No google maps reference, sorry.

The full 360 degree pano.

The final 360 had to be scaled 10:1 down because it ended up being a 500M image, which was unsuitable for web display. The final jpeg ends up being around 1.2M, but can still take a while to load. To launch the viewer you’ll need Java.

These sequences were taken with a standard tripod. I didn’t correct for parallax error. That is: I didn’t rotate the camera around it’s focal point, but rather rotated the camera around it’s body. You can see the errors clearly in the 360. These are largely unresolvable. I’m going to have to build myself a multipurpose adaptor that can swing a camera around it’s focal point.

You can either download the full 360 jpg pano using the download icon, or click on the 360 degree icon to launch the java viewer.
